1 Corinthian 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
The three work together: Hebrew 11:3 “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God” and God loved us enough to send His beloved Son to die in our place. And the Word also says ‘the hope maketh not ashamed’ (Romans 6:5.) Without faith, we cannot please God.
Hebrews 11:6 New King James Version (NKJV) 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Romans 6:5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
From the above two verses of the Bible, I have learnt a lot. I have put my faith to work many times and today I am living testimony of God’s goodness and faithfulness. When releasing our faith, we may have to wait for a while before we see results - Hebrew 11:1 “Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen”.
When I was seeking admission for a master programme, everything looked impossible, but I held on to the Word of God that says: “All things are possible to them who believe”. God came through and granted me admission to the master programme! This was after a period of trusting in God for the admission, releasing my faith, increasing my love for God and meditating on His Word.
After being granted admission, I had no money to pay the tuition fee. Because I am not a South African, I did not qualify for a bursary. But I kept releasing my faith in God, and believing on him for supernatural help. With faith in his Word, I can trust God for such a thing, and miraculously the bursary that I didn’t qualify was provided to me in due time. God sorted met out! I believed God would do it, trusting in his Word that says in 2 Corinthians 9:8 “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work”. I was told “you will not qualify for this bursary, but miraculously, God sorted me out!
I was looking for accommodation after the tuition fee had been dealt with. I had prayed to God: “I need favourable accommodation close to the university environment”, I had even forgotten I had prayed such a prayer. But God supernaturally ordered my steps, and I met someone that offered me free accommodation. The grace of God is real, the word of God is truth and God is a faithful God to those who trust in Him.
These are just a few small examples of God’s grace and faithfulness in my life. I believed his Word and He provided for me in wonderful ways. I have put my faith to work in many times and seasons; I remember when I required a Visa to come to South Africa and the South African High Commission in my home country refused to grant it. I released my faith, putting my total hope in God, and whenever you are putting your hope in God, your love towards God will increase, that's why I said: the Three works together “Faith, Love and Hope” - These three things provide the greatest means for success in life. I stood on this verse of the Bible that says in Proverbs 16:7 “When a man's ways please the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace”. And God did it and my visa was granted - and here I am today in South Africa, doing my master programme.
God wants us to place our faith and trust in Him, and He will do what only He alone can do, If we trust Hime, He will ‘perfect’ everything that concerns us.
